Time-Based Sessions
Set a session duration in minutes instead of just question count. Sessions end when the timer runs out AND a minimum number of questions are answered — so kids can't rush through 3 questions in 2 minutes and call it done.
Attention Span Ramp-Up
Start with short sessions (e.g., 10 minutes) and gradually increase over weeks. Your child won't even notice sessions getting longer. Set the starting time, the goal, and how fast to ramp up.
Idle Detection
If your child walks away or zones out, MathBuddi notices. After 3 minutes idle, a gentle nudge appears. After 5 minutes, the timer pauses so idle time doesn't count against them.
Timer Visibility Control
Some kids are motivated by seeing a countdown. Others get anxious. Parents control whether the timer is visible during sessions — the system still tracks time either way.
Speed & Fluency Analysis
Expected Time Per Question
Every question has a calibrated expected completion time based on grade level, topic, and difficulty. MathBuddi compares your child's actual time against this benchmark to measure fluency — not just accuracy.
The 2×2 Diagnosis
Accuracy + Speed = Insight. High accuracy + fast = Mastery. High accuracy + slow = Needs fluency practice. Low accuracy + fast = Rushing. Low accuracy + slow = Material may be too hard. This one chart tells you everything.
Speed Trend Tracking
See whether your child is getting faster or slower over time. A student who gets the answers right but takes twice as long needs different support than one who's rushing and getting them wrong.

Kids pick their own world: Race Cars, Motorcycles, Dinosaurs, Space, Ocean, Jungle, Dragons, Princess, Beach, Hockey, Soccer, Football, Baseball, or Cricket. Each theme changes the background, decorations, and even the word problems — so a hockey fan solves problems about pucks and goals.
Flexible Session Length
Parents can set session length manually (5 to 20 questions) or let the system auto-calculate based on the student's goal. Combine with time-based sessions for the ultimate control.
